St. Paddy's Day!

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day all morning long today.  We started off with some rainbow finger painting, which became rainbow body painting, followed by a rainbow bath.
Is this what St. Patrick looked like?
Then we had a treasure hunt; Irish gold!
Micaiah found 1 coin and was pretty proud of himself.
Dried and finished paintings.
"The Story of St. Patrick: More Than Just Shamrocks and Leprechauns."
My husband ordered this book a week ago and we didn't think it would arrive on time.  When the delivery guy rang my doorbell with the package in hand, I was so excited!  I was actually going to read the real story on the holiday after all!  So, during lunch I read to the boys of how St. Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland long ago.  It was the highlight of my day.

  1. Renae you have such awesome ideas!
You are really creative and make so many moments meaningful in the daily lives of Abishai and Micaiah.
    I love reading your blog!
    Love Alicia

  2. The childrens finger (and body) painting, looked so much fun! Great idea Renae, on the Irish treasure hunt...wish I had thought of doing it for my children!...maybe next year!

  3. Your blog is precious! I love all the pics. Looks like your kiddos are creative. You might enjoy www.magicalmouseschoolhouse.com, where we incorporate Disney's educational value into homeschool lessons & creative activities.
